Our History
Vergent was originally founded in 1992 as Fluent Systems, a top-ten provider of system integration services (Dallas Business Journal). As the Internet began to grow in the late 1990s, Fluent Systems expanded to meet the needs of clients looking for ISP services delivered by people who understood their computer servers, routers, and PCs.
Fluent Systems evolved into Teknation in 2004 and continued to grow its service and product offerings under that name. In 2006, the Teknation telecommunications department split off and became Vergent Communications, a fully independent voice and data network with an end-user customer base numbering in the thousands.
Today, Vergent continues to lead the industry in voice and data communications service. Because Vergent’s network has been designed and built by some of the best engineers in the industry — many of whom have been with company since the early 90′s — we can deliver better service at lower cost. We have continuously striven to stay on the cutting edge of changing network technologies in order to provide best of breed services to our client base.
